The 13th Philippine Food Expo 2016

Emerging Trends in Food Trade

The food trade landscape isn't like what it used to be. Influenced by a multitude of factors including strong economic gains, the opening of trading gateways to the rest of the ASEAN member countries, a growing population, changing demographics, new discoveries in food nutrition and an increasing shift towards greener and healthier foods, local food trends are currently undergoing a drastic change.

Philippine consumers are developing increased sophistication and awareness in their food products. With the integration of the ASEAN member countries into a single market place, along with the perceived economic stability of the Philippine market, food manufacturers - both local and international - are presented with arguably the most promising market for their products.

Given this, importance is placed in being able to identify the trends in the food industry for companies who wish to take advantage of this opportunity. Being attune with the growing trends will allow companies to adapt to market demands, and become more competitive in the process.

These evolving trends will be the center, by and large, of the 13th Philippine Food Expo scheduled on May 6-8, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila, Philippines.
